Sridevi New bollywood film English Vinglish Movie Review:
Sridevi is back and how! English Vinglish is worthy a comeback for this diva. The director of the movie Gauri Shinde has done perfect justice to Sridevi's acting talent. English Vinglish was premiered at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival, where Sridevi's performance drew a standing ovation and critical acclaim. And now we know why! The story of English Vinglish is emotional, sweet and funny. It's a truly delightful film, with Sridevi stealing the show, as expected!

Story:
Sashi (Sridevi), the wife of Satish (Adil Hussain) and the mother of Swapna and Sagar (Shivansh Kotia), is a home-maker who runs a home-based business of cooking and selling laddus. She is looked down by her husband and teenager daughter for not being able to understand or converse in English, though her mother-in-law (Sulbha Deshpande) is generally supportive of her role of a homemaker. Sashi's sister Manu Desai (Sujata Kumar) is a widow living in New York with her two daughters Meera (Neelu Sodhi) and Radha (Priya Anand). Sashi has to go to New York to assist her sister in the preparations for Meera's wedding, all by herself, while her husband and children join her later. How a "free-thinking woman" Sashi manages to go to New York and copes with the language difficulties there forms the rest of the story.

Artists Performance:
Sridevi is the perfect choice for this movie. Nobody can play the role of Shashi so convincingly. She shines in her comeback film. Though Sridevi is in a complete de-glamourous role in English Vinglish, she will still mesmerise you with her simplicity and charm. Undoubtedly, Sridevi has given an award winning performance in English Vinglish.
Adil Hussain, who played Sridevi's husband in the movie, is a good choice for this role. French actor Mehdi Nebbou will win your heart with his adorable French accent. He has given a powerful performance in the movie. Though the surprise package of the film is superstar Amitabh Bachchan. He is a total delight to watch in a brief, but very comical role.
Kudos to Gauri Shinde for bringing such a fresh concept on screen. She has a fine control over filmmaking craft. The movie is neither too preachy nor too over dramatised. Gauri Shinde has done a wonderful job from writing perfect script to casting perfect actors for each role. Also the narrative and editing of the movie is crisp and balanced.

Technical and Other Departments:
The music of English Vinglish is soulful and good, the credit goes to Amit Trivedi (Dev D, Udaan, Aisha fame). Every song in the movie is well placed and does not look forced. 'Manhatten' and 'English Vinglish' are good to listen while 'Navrai Majhi' is fun to watch.Kudos to Gauri Shinde for bringing such a fresh concept on screen. Movie Analysis:
Overall the movie is a must watch. It's a compete family entertainer. It has some excellent performances, especially Sridevi's! When compared to Madhuri Dixit (Aaja Nachle) and Karisma Kapoor's comeback (Dangerous Ishhq), Sridevi definitely has the best comeback in Bollywood with a beautiful story and strong role. One of the best movies of the year English Vinglish deserves a Hats Off!

Final View:
English Vinglish stands tall on the shoulders of two courageous women, Gauri Shindi and Sridevi who deliver one of the finest films of 2012. A definite watch for everyone.
