Varun Sandesh New Telugu Film Chammak Challo Movie Review:

Director G Neelakanta Reddy’s work seems to be an average fare in Chammak Challo.National Award winning director G Neelakanta Reddy’s last venture Virodhi was a critically acclaimed and also bagged a few awards, but it did an average business at the Box Office. Now, the director is back with his latest movie Chammak Challo starring Varun Sandesh, Sanchita Padukone and Catherine Tresa in leads, is a beautiful love story, but its dragging narration may kill your interest.

Kishore [Avasarala Srinivas] is an aspiring filmmaker who returns to India and keeps looking for an interesting love story. Accidently Kishore catches up with Appa Rao [Shayaji Shinde] and knowing about kishore film plans, Appa rao says real life love story of Shyam [Varun Sandesh] and Anshu [Sanchitha] to him, but he unfinishes it. What was the love story? Did Kishore made film or not has to be seen on the silver screen.

Artists Performances:

Varun Sandesh looks good in student’s role and he has delivered wonderful performance. His chemistry with both Sanchitha Padukone and Catherine Tresa is good and it is visual treat for audience. Sanchitha Padukone has full scope in the movie and she has tried her best to do justice to her role, but it does not seem to be enough. She needs to learn a lot in acting as well glam show.
When compared to Sanchita, Catherine Tresa has very less scope in the movie Chammak Challo, but she manages to impress you in a short span of time. She looks super hot.
Shayaji Shinde and Vennela Kishore will surely tickle your funny bones in this movie. Srinivas Avasarala, Vennela Kishore and others have done justice to their roles.

Technical and Other Departments:

In technical front, Kiran Varanasi’s music is the main highlight. The movie has eight songs and a couple of them are impressive. His background score is average and it fails to elevate sentimental scenes. Ranganath Gogineni’s picturisation is also good and he has captured some of the best scenes in this film. But Nagi Reddy’s editing is average. He could have trimmed certain dragging scenes to make it impressive. The dialogues are boring, they add to the slow narration.

Movie Analysis:

Chammak Challo is a romance drama with lot of commercial elements. Varun Sandesh’s performance is the major attraction in the film. Kiran Varanasi’s music, Ranganath Gogineni’s beautiful picturisation, Neelakanta Reddy’s script and Bramhaji’s comedy timing are its other highlights. But its one big drawback is its slow-paced narration, which will mar the interest of the viewers. The title cards rolling with all famous love story scenes at background looks an interesting idea and it sets the mood to enjoy the romance drive. The first few minutes in the first half, which has three romantic songs, are quite interesting with Varun’s introduction, Brahmaji’s comedy, but this interest does not last long as the romantic moments between Varun and Sanchita turns disgusting journey for the viewers. After the interval bang, the story shifts to Bangalore, where Varun finds a job. Vennela Kishore tickles your funny bones in the second half, but that is not enough to bring back viewers’ lost interest as the slow narration continues in the second hour too. There are some scenes like Varun chasing Catherine and Varun-Sanchita fight, which look silly and one can not stop asking whether these scenes are directed by a National Award winning director like G Neelakanta Reddy.

Final View:

Overall, G Neelakanta Reddy wants to offer a different love story through Chammak Challo, but he has failed in executing the story on screen. Instead of entertaining, the director bores and irritates audience. Watch it on your own risk.
