Allu Arjun New Film Iddarammayilatho Movie Review:

Allu Arjun and Puri Jagannath combination has worked wonders yet again. The movie Iddarammayilatho, directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Bandla Ganesh, has proved to be an all-round entertainer. The actors Allu Arjun, Amala Paul and Katherine Tresa are at their best in this movie. Here is the review of the movie.

Story:

Akanksha, daughter of a wealthy Union Minister of India, goes to Spain to study and lives in a rented house which previously was occupied by Komali who left her diary there. By going through the diary Akankasha develops interest in the love story of Sanju and Komali and contacts Sanju. She starts teasing Sanju with the details she learned from the diary of Komali. But the diary does not have total story of Sanju and Komali in it. Out of the keen interest created by the diary of Komali, Akanksha asks Sanju about the remaining episode of their love. Then Sanju reveals the truth that was very tragetic and it moves Akanksha.

Artists Performance:

Allu Arjun looked sophisticated and dignified and played his role well. His dances are good as usual. Catherine Tresa’s costumes, looks and graceful movement with liberal skin show in some scenes are sure to allure the youth and make them feel paisa vasool for the money spent. Amala Pal acted well in her role as a Brahmin girl hesitant and traditional. Some love scenes and song sequences of ‘Run Run’, ‘Violin song’ and ‘Top Lechipoddi’ were made in an appealing way.

Brahmanandam as Fiddle Brahma and Ali as Gudivada Krishna in comedy scenes and Shawar Ali as a don and even Subbaraju are not utilized properly by the director. The arrogance usually seen in the heros of Puri Jagannadh movies is missing in this film. Allu Arjun does not show that type of heroism in this movie.

Technical and Other Departments:

Acting from Allu Arjun and Catherine Tresa are a definite plus in the movie. Though a little more was expected from Amala Paul, she seemed a bit too timid in the character. The music and choreography was impressive, though Allu Arjun's dancing took a back seat. Placing of songs are very good and the cinematography of the movie is very good too. Puri Jagannath's direction is a huge plus. His work seems to improve by each film. This movie shows talent and dedication in double-fold. He has succeeded in drawing the best of their talent from everyone involved in the film. Be it the acting, music, cinematography or action sequences, he is perfect.

Movie Analysis:

The film moves between the present and the Komali flashbacks and when it was time to somehow fit in the mafia into all of this, it took some over-elaborate moves, then again, when did over-elaboration ever bother them? The pun of the dialogue was occasionally on the money, but, the protagonist having to deal with our version of the modern musician who uses instruments either to smash heads or to finish the costume is a lot to deal with. I just think of it as a terrible fate and let it be.

Final View:

If you expect some new punch dialogues, new dance steps and heroism, “Iddarammayilatho” disappoints you. If you like the soft touch of a sophisticated hero looks in the hero, Allu Aruju certainly fits the bill. Glamour of the heroines, action scenes and song sequences are sure to make feast to the eyes.
