Gopichand and Taapsee Pannu New Telugu Film Sahasam Movie Review:

After a long gap, actor Gopichand and director Chandrasekhar Yeleti are back to rock the big screen with their latest Telugu movie Sahasam, which has hit the marquee across the globe. It is neither a brainy nor an intelligent film, but a commercial entertainer. It is a typical Gopichand film with Yeleti's touch. You will really enjoy this technical extravaganza action thriller.

Story:

Goutham (Gopichand) is a security guard whose ambition is to become very rich in short-cut way. So he tries his luck with lottery tickets and even consults babas for some short-cut routes, but nothing works. At this juncture, Goutham finds a will written by his grandfather Varma (Suman), a wealthy man running diamond business in Peshawar, before the partition. Goutham sets out to Pakistan in search of his grandfather's treasure hidden in the legendary Hinglaj Devi temple. He seeks the help of an advocate of Hindu religion, Sreenidhi (Taapsee). Meanwhile, Pakistani terrorists group, headed by Sultan (Shakti Kapoor) is also on hunt for the same treasure. The film takes an interesting twist here. What is that twist? Will Goutham claim his grandfather's treasure? The rest of the film will answer these questions in the climax, which should be watched on screen.

Artists Performance:

As usual, Gopichand has given a superb performance and his body language is perfect match for the role of security guard. He definitely rocks you with his amazing action and dare-devil stunts. He is the showman in Sahasam, which will surely be a landmark film in his acting career. In Sahasam, Taapsee Pannu has got a good role, which offers her ample scope to show her acting skills. As a devout and naive woman, she has also given brilliant performance. Her chemistry with Gopichand will once again impress the movie buffs. Shakti Kapoor, who is debuting in Tollywood, has delivered an authentic performance as terrorist Sultan. Ali tries his best to tickle your funny bones, but his comedy track is not very satisfying. Narayana Murthy, Suman and others have also done justice to their respective roles.

Technical and Other Departments:

Sahasam has excellent production values and its majestically-captured visuals are the main highlights in the technical front. Shyam Dutt's picturisation has given a sophisticated feel to this much-hyped film. The brilliantly-choreographed action sequences are another highlight in the technical front of Sahasam. Stunt master Selva has directed some of the excellent fights and car chases, which look real and believable. Especially in climax, they have been conceived very well.

A special mention should be made about art direction and computer graphics, which are among the biggest strengths of the film. The creation of Pakistani ambiance looks splendid and authentic. The special effects of the film play a predominant role in holding the viewers' attention till the end.
Sri's background score is another big strength of the film Sahasam. He has composed a couple of songs, which are pretty good to listen. The editing of the film is also commendable. Overall, Chandrasekhar Yeleti must be commended for tapping out right kind of work from each department.

Movie Analysis:

Sahasam is an action adventure drama with a few masala ingredients to appeal mass audience. Gopichand's electrifying performance is the main attraction in the film. Yeleti's new story and arresting narration, Shyam Dutt's cinematography, Sri's background score, well-choreographed action sequences, gun fights and car chases, and excellent art works are some of other highlights. But the movie lacks glamour quotient, which may disappoint some section of audience. Chandrasekhar Yeleti has chosen a novel theme and unique story, which has not been shown on Telugu screen earlier. Inspired by a cover story published in an English magazine, the film revolves around a security guard, who goes from India to Pakistan in search of his forefather's treasure. The director has included several twists and turns in the narration, which makes you sit on the edge of the seat and watch. The treasure hunt and the intricate clues are sure to thrill you.

Final View:

Sahasam is an unique entertainer in Telugu, which is a right blend of brilliant performances and rich production values. The movie will impress all classes of audiences except glamour and comedy lovers. Watch the movie for its technical brilliance.
