Asha Bhosle was born on September 8, 1933, as the son of the Gomantak Marathi Brahmin family in Sangli, Maharashtra. She was the third of the five brothers. Her father Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar was a famous classical singer and theater actor.
Asha Bhosle mother Shevanti was the second wife of Pandit Dinanath. Early on, she trained with her other brothers in classical music. Even if she acted like a childish artist, it was natural for her to choose to sing. Unfortunately, her father died suddenly in 1942, which meant a major emotional and financial shock to the family.
Asha Bhosle started playing and singing with her older sister Lata Mangeshkar. The family moved from Pune to Mumbai at the urging of the mentor and family friend, Master Vinayak. She was Chala Chala Nav Bala for the movie Majha Bal with the composer Datta Davjekar Asha had the opportunity to sing a Marathi film when she was only 10 years old in 1943.
Asha Bhosle first foray into Hindi film playback was with the song film “Saawan Aaya” “Chunariya” with composer Hansraj Behl in 1948. When she was 16, she ran away with the personal secretary of her sister, Lata Mangeshkar, Ganpatra Bhosle and married her. The vow of the marriage family failed miserably and Asha Bhosle was expelled by Ganpatrao. She came home with two children, Hemant and Varsha, and with the third, Anand, to pregnant women.
Ashaji Rahul Dev Burman met while working as a playback singer and married in 1980. The marriage was happy and lasted until the death of Rahul in 1994.
In 1948 she made her debut in the reproduction with the movie Hindi ‘Chunariya’. The song was called “Saawan Aaya” and Asha was noticed by her other and cheerful voice. During the 1950s, she received missions that were rejected by the greatest singers such as Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begum, and Lata Mangeshkar.
Most of her songs were written primarily for the margins of crowded roles, such as vampires, cabaret shows or movies C. Grad it took much endurance to Asha reached the summit.
Asha Bhosle hard work and efforts paid off when she had her first big break with the film C.I.D (1956). After the mid-1960s Asha worked with R. D. Burman and reached the pinnacle of her career. The film Teesri Manzil (1966) brought her fame and won much applause. The duo Asha and R. D. Burman brought success to success and their cooperation led to a marriage.
During her reading career in Bollywood, she faces her older sister, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha, who forged a completely different niche. She has developed a more versatile repertoire of songs that includes genres such as classical, western, pop, cabaret, ghazal influences. She let herself be dominated by the shadows of her famous sister and began to experiment with music, making public songs that were both wonderful and delicious at the same time.
Asha Bhosle’s talent has been recognized by a number of awards and honors from various authorities. She was awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke in 2000. She received the Padma Vibhushan Award from the Government of India in 2008.
She won eight Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singers in 1968, 1969, 1972, 1973, 1974, She won two national awards in 1981 for the song ‘Dil Cheez Kya hai’ by Umrao Jaan and in 1986 through the movie Mera Kuchh Saman, Ijaazat. Award also won the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in 2002 in the category Best singer reading the film song “Radha Kai Na Jale” Lagaan. She also won the Lata Mangeshkar Government award from Madhya Pradesh in 1989. In addition to a Grammy nomination, she received an immoral in 2005.
